A Message From The Gold River Filmakers Associaton

June 15, 2018

Update on the Candidate's Debate.

The Gold River Filmmakers Corporation proposes to produce, and freely distribute, a video of the Mayoral and Councillor Debate. Hopefully this will be a way to get each candidate's message out to every Gold River resident.

The Debate format is being worked on but I am pleased to say that Hana Kim has agreed to be the Moderator. She is a GRSS student who has a great deal of self confidence and poise. A perfect Moderator!

I'm excited at the prospect of getting other GR students involved in this endeavour as they are our future and they deserve to be involved.

I envision this debate will be a small affair because the filming of, and distribution of the video is the main focus. I'm leaning towards this not being an open public forum but a small 'by invitation only' gallery.
A committee to fine tune the details is being assembled.

Host Families Needed

January 03, 2023

Dear Gold River,

Our International Education Program is Growing!

It turns out that international students love our schools, host families, and community. They find our teachers to be welcoming, knowledgeable, and kind. They love the warm family atmosphere of our small town and the unparalleled pristine nature, freedom, and outdoor opportunities - this is what separates our small program from the rest of Canada.

Next September we will have 10 international students studying at GRSS and we are looking for host families for the following students:

- German, 15 years old male, 3 months from Sept. - Nov.

- German, 16 years old female, 2 months from Sept. - Oct

- Italian, 17 year old female, 3 months, from Sept - Nov.

- Japanese, 15 year old male, 1 month , Sept.

- Japanese, 16 year old female, 3 months, Sept.-Nov

We pay $800/month for each student.
